"Hi, my name's Joe, and I'm going to talk to you today about what you need to look for when you buy a pool table. One of the main things that you have to know is the size of your room. Pool tables come in varying sizes. They're twice as long as they are wide. So you've got a three and a half by seven, a four by eight and a four and a half by nine. The rule of thumb is that you need five feet on each side of the table for your room. So you add the width of your table add ten feet to that and the length of your table and add ten feet to that. If you're pressed for space you can go with twice the length of the pool cue that you're playing with. And pool cues come about fifty seven inches to about fifty eight inches. So once you've decided what size table you want to get, then you have to decide what company that you want to go with. There's many companies out there and basically it has to do with style and probably something to do with cost. When you purchase your table, the manufacturer that you purchased it from will come in and will install the table. You'll have to pick what color cloth you want and you'll have to pick what kind of balls that you want to play with. That is pretty much what is required for having a table. A lot of people take and do a over the garage room, but you have to make sure that the roof will allow you to be able to stand about three quarters high on the slope of the roof, so that you'll have enough room to go around the table. And that is what I would look for if I was buying a pool table."
