"Hi, my name's Joe, I'm from Wilmington, North Carolina and I'm at Breaktime Billiards. I'm going to attempt to show you how to break a rack of nine ball. When you break a rack of nine balls, what you're trying to do is to hit the one ball solid. If you've done it correctly what should happen is the cue ball should probably come back to about the center of the table and then stop. If you break improperly, then you, you do what they call lose control of the cue ball. And then you don't have any idea where the cue ball's going to go, so what you get left with after the break is more luck than anything else. So, most people are going to break from the side of the table. I like to break from the left side of the table. I place the ball approximately maybe two and half, three inches from the rail. And what I'm going to try to do, like I said before, is to hit the one ball solid. Now, if I get my timing right, when I go into the balls I'm going to put my weight behind my shot. That's supposed to let me add speed to the cue ball and therefore hit the balls harder. So let's give it a shot. That's how I broke that rack of nine balls. I hope when you break yours, a ball will fall."
