"How to create a Dorothy Costume. Dorothy's can be easily configurated by purchasing a pattern, and the fabric to do it, from your local fabric store. They're fairly easy to follow, and the fabric is most normally there, if not, you can order it in. This however, was purchased at a thrift store. It was much longer, and we cut it off at the proper length, and we took the extra, and made our little straps that we needed, for the front here, for Dorothy. We used a cute little simple top, that we found. You simply just need something with a little bit of a puff on the sleeve, and that really makes together, an easy simple Dorothy dress, for just about anybody. Now, you'll also want to remember to do something fun with the hair. If you don't have long hair, you'll need to purchase a wig. If not, and you have your own great brown hair, then go ahead and braid it up, adding a little ribbon to it, is always nice and fun, and a little bit of curl action just to finish off the bottom of your wig, or your own natural hair is a great way to finalize any Dorothy hair, that you're trying to accomplish, and then of course, Dorothy's most important detail, her ruby slippers. There's a wide variety of ruby slippers out there for you to purchase. Don't forget to get those blue socks. Those can be easily gotten at any department store, but if you're not in the mood for the shoes that they offer for purchase, or are just feeling like you want to make your own, you can simply go out and buy a pair of character shoes, and simply add red glitter to them, with some glue spray, or you can get the glitter, that glues on itself, and you just simply brush it all over the shoes, making a great glitter ruby slipper, or if you want something more like the real thing, you can actually glue through it, and add your own little ruby gems, all over the shoe, making a really beautiful ,nice pointy, ruby slipper, and of course, your final detail, a little basket to finish it off, and if you've got a little Toto to throw in it, he's always good for a finale, and there you have it, an easy to make Dorothy costume."
