"How does math apply to cooking? Hi, I'm Jimmy and we're here to answer that question right now. Believe it or not, math is a integral part of cooking, because you have to count a lot of things that you have to use in order for you to cook. Whether you're cooking for small parties or a large family, you have to take into account the different kinds of units and ratios to help you cook. You may have heard the units cups, cups of water, gallons, table spoons, teaspoons, temperature. Sometimes recipes... they might give it to you in Celsius, you may have to convert it to Fahrenheit. You never know. But in terms of the most important part of cooking is that you have to make adjustments to ratios. Recipes that call for two cups of water, you may have to adjust that for larger families if you're going to make that recipe for a lot of people. If you're not up on your ratios for math. If you put too little or too much of something, it wouldn't taste very good. So, those units are examples as to why you need mathematics in cooking, and I'm Jimmy and I hope I've given you some reasons as to why math is important in cooking."
