"Hello, my name is Athena Reich and I'm an actress and acting coach here in New York City. In this clip, I'm going to talk about how to find monologues. It's very important that you have a number of monologues ready your auditions. You're going to need: contemporary monologues, Shakespearean-classical monologues, comedic and dramatic. But, how do you find these monologues? Well, the best resource that I can recommend is dramabookshop.com. It doesn't matter where you live, around the world, you can shop on-line. They do have a New York office if you live in New York City. They even have rush shipments. But, on dramabookshop.com, you will find hundreds of books that are compilations of monologues organized by gender, by age groups, you can find, you know, twenty-something female monologues, or you can, you know, whatever you want. Also, you can go to, if you live in a city big enough to have a Performing Arts Library, you can go to your local library and just look through the monologues, read them right there, and photo-copy them right there at the library. So, it's just really important that you find a monologue that you relate to and that is appropriate so that you have a lot of options for auditions. This has been Athena Reich in New York City."
