"You've got that difficult client. What you'd really like to do is just go out and find another one, but it's not always that easy. I'm Gloria Campbell with Advantage Training Systems in St. Petersburg, Florida. How do you handle that difficult client? It's one of those things that you really want to tear your hair out sometimes, but you've gotta deal with them. And in most cases, I've found that that difficult client could really turn into my best client. One of the things that they want to do is, they want to feel important. They want to make sure that you understand what their needs are, and that you're willing to meet those needs. Normally the first thirty days or so of that relationship is really critical. If it's a client, and they want to have you return their call within five minutes, do your best to do that. Once you've established that base-line, you've alleviated their fears that you're not going to be there or you're not going to be responsive, or you don't know what you're talking about, they normally will relax. Handling difficult clients is just part of our job. And it requires, in most cases, that we go a little beyond what we normally would have to do with a client. Those clients, though, can turn out to be the best clients you ever had. I'm Gloria Campbell with Advantage Training Systems in St. Petersburg, Florida. Give that difficult client what they want, and they'll normally turn out to be your best clients."
