Summary: For the cardboard model car, apply glue to the felt strips and attach them to the candle holders. Glue felt strips to a cardboard model car with tips from an experienced crafter in this free video on arts and crafts.
"Now we're going to glue our felt strips on to the outside of the candle which will be our tires. The way we do this is we lay them flat on our table and we apply a strip of glue on to the back of the felt. And then the easiest way is to, while it's still laying down on our table,to take the tire or the candle and just press it on to the edge and slowly roll it up, making sure that it's as even as possible and the strip is staying on to the outer rim of the, of the candle, and just keep rolling it, keeping it straight until the end. And then pressing it all together to make it look like a tire. We can see that it has a really nice effect when it's a little bit thicker and we also see that the metal on the inside actually looks a little bit like a hub cap. So this is a really, really nice effect and the candle is really a perfect solution in making our wheels for the car. So we'll go ahead and do this to all four of the strips. It's better not to put too much of any thick spots on to the felt strips because what happens is, is once you're rolling it's being pressed together. So as you press it together you're going to be squeezing out and some of the glue will come out of the sides. And it dries clear but it still kind of will look a little bit sloppy as some of the sides, you'll see that they're kind of stuck together even though that it dries clear. And another thing is that the end of the glue also it's important not to put too much because the last bit is going to be exposed. So it will also be pressed to close it around the wheel, so you don't want too much of a blob of glue sitting there to be squeezed out. And this is the way that we make the covering for our wheels."
