"Now I am going to talk to you about how to play the bass drum. You have the pedal so you just stick your foot on it and there is two ways to play. There is a way heel down, that I am going to show you now. It's when you keep your heel and your foot is always on the pedal and to push your using more of the front of your foot than you are the back of your foot. Then there is the heel up method which is like this. Keep your heel raised. I use this when I have to play louder or punchier or have to do quicker flourish with the drum. You can kind of hear the difference to because when I play like this it digs in to the head where as when you keep your heel down it resignates off more. So the best thing to do is mess around for a little while. Find out which is most comfortable for you and that will get started rocking away on the base drum."
