"Ok the first pattern we are going to look at, I'll play it slowly for you with the bass drum with all parts. Maybe I'll put the hi hat in now at the up beats. Maybe a little faster. So this is a pattern here that's based on groupings of one, two, and four. There's nothing strange about the timing, there are some hand to hand accents and keeping in mind through this entire thing what we do want to do is keep the right hand left hand accents the same."
