"So now that we have this groove down and we can change it up, make it a little bit more advanced, we're going to add in some fills, and we're going to do that by really taking a look at the fills the way it's developed, is you have this groove going, and then the groove stops, and you have a counter melody, and then you hit right back on the groove again. And it's really important to come right back on that one. Boom, boom, da ba, doo bi da. So we're going to go through and play some simple grooves and talk about it, and then we're going to analyze them in the next segment. So by stopping the groove and doing a nice melody but still keeping that pulse, I get this cool mix up fill in there, and the best way to do it is to really practice and really hear it in your head. I'm going to go through and analyze it so you get a better idea how to construct these fills in the next segment."
