"This next pattern is going to be our first that's slightly syncopated. We're going to be playing the bass drum anticipating the third beat, but it's not going to play on the third beat. So let me play this one slowly for you. I'll just demonstrate it. So what we're doing there is instead of playing--that second base drum note is just being moved up slightly, and it could throw some drummers off. So let's play it with the shuffle pattern. So practice that one slowly if you need to. You can always count with these, and that'll definitely help you get all three parts together."
