"I'm going to talk to you about the snare drum. This is the snare drum; it is the most used instrument or individual instrument in the drum kit. You got to remember that the drum kit is also an entire instrument as one. Now it has everything that the basic drum has except it has some more special things. On the bottom you have the snares, that's what makes it get that special sound that it has. Here you have a lever, a throw off switch that can turn the snares off and put it in tom tom mode. Here the difference? This knob right here, you can twist this to control the amount of snare sound you get on the drum. So you can make it looser. Alright that's a little too loose. You can make it real tight. Over on the other end you just have the other piece to hold the snares up. Besides for that everything else is the same except that this is a metal shell which is used; you don't really see metal shells used on other drums besides the snare drum. Snare drums can also be made out of wood. I mean I've seen drums made out of plastic too. I actually saw a drum set made out of cheese one time. So you can make drums out of anything. As long as it sounds good it'll work."
