"Okay let's make sure we know how war is played heads up - two player. I'm going to cut the deck in half so you don't have to watch me shuffle, and you'll play this side and I'll play this side. How about that? So the first thing we each do is throw out a card. You threw this nine. I threw a six. Nine takes it. You play a card. I play a card. We both have queens. So we declare war on each other. You put out three cards down, one card up. I have to beat a jack. I did not. I'm always interested in looking at what I picked up. Look at that. You got a jack, a ten and a five. So statistically speaking you've got two cards that can beat me later on. We just keep going and you do this until somebody takes the whole deck."
