"Let's look at an example of a round of War. Now, in poker, we would call a two person game, Heads Up, so this is Heads Up War. The way that it works, is I throw out a card, you throw out a card, and the higher card takes the trick. In other games, we would call it a trick, like in Spades, or in Hearts, so I take the trick because I had the higher card. Now, there's a couple of tens, so that's when we declare War. Each side throws out a packet of cards, and then one card up,and the higher wins that. What a skirmish, huh? so this is of course, how you play War, and we'll get into the details of the game, in segments to come. I hope you find it fun. It's kind of simple. It's kind of basic, but this is a good reference, for what you need to know, if you want to teach your family War,and play a game with them."
