"Most people aren't sure how jobs are gotten. I'm going to give you a little secret. My name is Gloria Campbell, and I'm with Advantage Training Systems, in St. Petersburg, Florida. The first tip I want to give you, is that most jobs that people get, they get because they know people who work for people, so the first thing you're going to do if you're looking for a job, is I call it my top thirty. You make a list of all the people you know. If they go to your church. If they go to your daughter's daycare. If they're previous associates of yours. You make your list of top thirty. You then start getting in contact with those people. Email, phone calls, whatever, text messages, whatever works for you. Let them know that you're looking for a job. Give them some kind of an idea, of what type of a job you're looking for, because those individuals are on the inside of the company, or the organization. They can tell you what jobs are available, when they will be coming available. They can also give you a referral. Most companies will have on their employment application, who referred you? Do you know someone who works for the company? If they value that employee, that gives you a couple of points ahead of the next person. When you're looking for a job, work smart. There are a number of different avenues. Newspapers are certainly one. I've had people tell me they've never got a good job out of the newspaper. The two best jobs I ever had, I got out of the newspaper. It's all a matter of timing, and it's all a matter of using all of your resources. My name is Gloria Campbell, and I'm with Advantage Training Systems, in St.Petersburg, Florida. You get the job the best way you can. Use all of your resources, newspaper, advertising, and the computer."
