"Hi, I'm Kelli. I'm an aesthetician and make up artist at Ulta Salon and Cosmetics and I'm going to give you some tips on how to lighten skin color. One of the easiest things that you can do is to do either an at home chemical peel or go to an aesthetician and get a higher grade chemical peel. This is an example of an at home chemical peel and basically what this is, it's a peel pad. It has a blend of glycolic and lactic acids in it which are alpha-hydroxies. So what these do is they penetrate deeper down into the skin to dissolve many layers of dead and damaged skin cells and bring healthier, new, fresh skin cells to the surface. So in turn this is going to help lighten any discolorations. It also helps with fine lines and wrinkles. Another thing that you can do is get some lightening gels. You can get these either with hydroquinone or without, and these will actually help to break up any discolorations and help to lighten any areas of discolor. You can also get brightening serums and these help to kind of smooth out and lighten the skin all over. So those are some examples of things that you can do to lighten skin color."
