"Hello my name is Greg Koenig under Fitness For Life and today we're going to discuss weight training equipment reviews. A lot of controversy out there with what is best free weight dumbbells, as you see here or which is an open chain movement, or close chain movement, something similar to like a lat pull or seated row machine or squat press machine. They both have advantages and disadvantages. The one thing with dumbbells are due to the extensive range of motion, people are more prone to injury with dumbbells as oppose to, which is an open chain movement, as oppose to a close chain movement, something like a lat pull, which has a fix range of motion and it is stabilize. So a free weight is unstabilized, most machines have a stabilized range of motion. And I think that the supplementing the two is a great way, depending on the needs of a person. You also have selectorize machines which is pin loaded or you have a plate loaded machine which is a fixed motion but it gives you a truer feel of a dead free weight with a stability movement. The cables that you see on the particular machine, like the cable cross server is a smoother pull and smoother feel of the weight but with the machine it's going to be a deader, it's going to be a dead weight feel and more of a true feel of the accurate that you have, that you have added to the machine. So to recap on what we just talked about, the combination of free weights, whether it'd be plates or dumbbells and a fixed machine, selectorize which is pin loaded and or a plate loaded machine as we have to or right, your left, the combination of the three are great, as long as about mechanics or in order and implementation is correct. This is Greg Conneg with Fitness For Life and this concludes our talk about weight training review."
