"Hi, I'm Ross Skrudland, with LakeLessons.com, and I'm going to go over the basics of grabbing the board in the air. Now, first of all, it's just like a normal jump, either heel side or toe side. When you're coming in, you're going to be coming into the wake, and that tear progressive edge, and the whole key to getting the grab, is waiting until you're in the air, and then bringing the board up to you. As you can see, my handle will still be low, my hips are underneath me, my chest is up. I'm going to leave the wake. Once I get up in the air, then it's just bringing the board up to you, and making the grab, and once you get that grab, coming down and landing it, and cushioning your landing. Now, a lot of people will, when they come in, try to go for that grab, before they're off the wake, and what that's going to happen, is it's going to change your body position and edge, so when you get up in the air, you'll be getting pulled out, or the boat will take complete control of you, so it's very important to wait until you're in the air, and getting that solid jump, keeping that handle in, hips forward, and then bringing the board up to you and grabbing, and also another key feature a lot of people might do, is when they get up in the air, they'll go down for the grab, which is going to cause you to break at the waist, and lose control of your posture, which is going, in the end result, make you crash, or land on your back, or do something completely wrong, so when you come in, good body posture. Wait until you get in the air, and then bringing the grab to you, instead of you going to the grab, which is going to keep your body posture, so when you come down from the landing, you're directly over your board, and you can ride away softly, and that's the basics on getting a grab."
