"My name is staff Sargent Hawkins. I'm a U.S. Army recruiter stationed out of Salt Lake City, Utah. Today I'm going to talk about the pay scales for second Lieutenants. Pay scales for second Lieutenants need minimum they can get paid when they first enlist 2,555.70 per month. That's a little bit misleading because they actually make quite a bit more than that. That is actually their base pay. They also have entitlements but are not taxed. You have basic allowance for housing. For this there's a code here. Which is 84115, which roughly a thousand dollars a month for a Lieutenant. Definitely will not be lower than that. They also have, what's called separate rations. Meaning that when they're not in a U. S. Army department, the army school. They will be paid to mess separately. Meaning that they can use that money to eat out on or buy groceries. Or something of that nature. With that said about second Lieutenants. There's various things when they're on a post by themselves. When they're not there, dirty stations they would live. They can choose to live off post and off post housing. And for more information on becoming a 2nd Lieutenant. And the different pay and entitlements they would receive.
