"My name is Staff Sgt. Hawkins, I'm a U.S. Army recruiter out of south Salt lake here in Salt Lake City, Utah. Today I'd like to talk about the active duty army pay scale. The army pay scale is broken down into three pieces. We have the enlisted ranks which is E-1 through E-9. We have the warrant officer ranks which is warrant officer one through chief warrant four. And we have the officer ranks which are Lieutenants through four star generals. The difference in the pay scales are according to it can of breaks down across educational lines. To be an officer you do have at least a bachelor's degree and as you progress through your officer ranks you will have to get your master's degree to keep progressing within those ranks. The warrant officers are our specialists in any given field with inside the army, and they are also our army pilots. Our enlisted grades are E-1 through E-9 that's a private through sergeant major in the army and they come in, they have the options of a hundred and fifty different jobs and they do choose their jobs based on their qualifications. According to their ascab scores and their moral qualifications and their physical qualifications."
