"Hello, my name is Eric White and today we're going to talk about how to buy a home computer. Now everybody has different needs so when your first sought out to buy a home computer, you're going to think about what are going to be the uses for. Am I going to look at the Internet? Yes. Okay. Check that one also, we know we need to be able to look the Internet. Am I going to play games? No, I don't care for games, maybe solitaires. So, you're going to consider all the things that are important to you. Do you take videos, is video editing something that you're interested in? You know, how, how much power am I going to need? I'd have to say that for your average home user, basic Internet access, the ability to burn the DVDs, maybe some light gaming. You might want to consider, do you have children, do they need to use the computer for reports? So, I recommend the best thing to do is to, to go to a computer website. Be it, any of the major manufacturers. You can go to website, they all have build my system. And you can go through and, if you aren't sure about something, you can sort of pick in the middle. Usually the default is the lower specs stuff and it's less expensive. You can try that out, go through the menus and build it, you can see how much it's going to cost, when they're going to ship it, how fast will it get to your house, that sort of thing. But for my money, I'd like to call the sales person. It's not like buying a car, you're not going to get this high pressure sales pitch. Well, there's a little pressure. But what you want to do is give them a call and they'll help you build the computer. And they'll ask you lots of questions like, what you're going to use the computer for, the same questions that I asked earlier. So, go online, pick a company, do some research, look at consumer reports and pick the computer that's best for your lifestyle. And that's how to pick a computer."
