"There are no small subjects, only small people. How do we involve ourselves with small talk? This is Dr. Paul, author of "Boomer Girls", a boomer women's guide to men and dating. So, you want to make small talk. A few guidelines, no religion, no politics, and ask questions. You've gone to a, art museum and kind of a function afterwards. It's going to be a situation where you're going to have hors d oeuvres, you're going to have some wine, and you're going to talk to other people. How do you happen to know the hostess? You've got an open end question. Small talk, one never knows where the small talk will go. Woman to woman, where did you get the shoes? Man to man, have you picked up the tickets for the Rays game? Whatever it might be, small talk, then focus on what the other finds interesting, and what you have in common. It's an easy way to expand into more small talk, and who knows, maybe even a friendship. So again, there are no small topics, only small people. But you're a bigger person, so involve yourself with small talk, and enjoy your life. This is Dr. Paul, may your fantasies of today, be your realities of tomorrow."
