"Everyone has watched animals, on nature, we've watched our pets, they tend to be affectionate. This is Dr. Paul, author of "Boomer Girls: A Boomer Woman's Guide to Men and Dating." We are animals, like it or not, we're not vegetables, we're not mineral, we're animals. And we have a need to be affectionate, and we have a need to receive affection. When you look at, say, a litter of kittens, or you look at two puppies, or you look at two adult dogs, they tend to be affectionate with each other. They play, they lay against each other, they are touching. How to be affectionate is very simple, be touching, be playful, be what you are. Don't preclude your humanity. We're so uptight in our everyday life that we're afraid to walk into that island of what really is reality, and that's what with our significant other. Whether it's a girlfriend or a boyfriend, a fiancee or a fiance, whether it's a husband or a wife, whatever it may be, you enter that world away from the rest of the world. And then you touch, it's important, it causes human bonding, it makes you want to want the other, and the other to want you. That's what it's all about, that's what life is all about, to love and be loved. So being affectionate is very simple. It's a matter of touching, being close. This is Dr. Paul, may your fantasies of today be your realities of tomorrow."
