"The "green monster" is known very well to baseball fans being in Boston, the Red Sox stadium. But we are talking about another "green monster" today and that is jealousy. This is Dr. Paul, author of "Boomer Girls, a woman, womens guide to men and dating." Overcoming jealousy is a very unique practice. It is not easy, but it is doable. Keep this in mind, the only way to overcome jealousy is to remember "I was looking for someone when I found this one". I was looking for someone when I found you. And, the best way to overcome jealousy if you have a serious reason to be jealous, I mean, if it is a acrid, super known reason. No rumors, no innuendos, reality. This man, or this woman, has cheated on you, you are jealous and angry and hurt. The best way to handle jealousy is to walk away from it. If on the other hand, it is not real, if it is just jealousy that you feel inside, then you need to check yourself out. Why am I feeling so insecure that I am jealous of this significant other that I'm with? Whether you're a man or a woman, some jealousy is healthy. That's fine, everybody knows that. But, when it goes to extreme, then it becomes a problem. And a problem that may really manifests itself much deeper. When a person, for example, is bipolar, then they may exhibit that type of jealousy into a rage. They may have other medical conditions that will do the same. But, to overcome jealousy that's imagine within, you need to answer a question: "Am I jealous because I'm insecure with myself, with the relationship, or with life in general?" And maybe you need some counseling. But, if it is real jealousy, if it is because someone has done you wrong, then have at it. This is Dr. Paul, may your fantasies of today, be your realities of tomorrow."
