"Nice and friendly people, beautiful Baroque architecture, a lovely view on the Danube, it is all part of Hungary and its capital, Budapest. So, if one day you are planning to travel there, you should know about the fact how to place a phone call to Hungary. First of all, lets determine what time it is in Hungary. Hungary is one hour ahead of Greenwich mean time, which means that it is six hours later in Hungary than it is on the east coast of the United States, and it is nine hours later in Hungary than it is on the west coast. First of all, one has to dial 011, the international access code. Then it is followed by 36, which is the code for Hungary, the country code for Hungary. Then thirdly, please remove the zero in case the city code, the Hungarian city code starts with one. Most of them start with a zero. Last but not least, please dial the remaining digits. Keep a Hungarian phrase book or dictionary handy. If you dare to do that, I say it, because the Hungarian language is notoriously difficult and its not related to any of the Latin origin languages. So, it is related to the Finnish and Estonian languages. It is a really hard language, in case you like to learn it and the pronunciation is the worst, I have to tell you. So, all in all, you have to know that the most Hungarians on the streets, speak at least some English, so you don't have to be that much worried about this."
