"Some of the most common signs that your horse is sick would be if your horse is biting at their sides, kicking at their stomachs, rolling constantly and not really wanting to stay up. These are all signs that your horse is colicing, which is probably the most common sickness. If your horse just seems under the weather, maybe un-energetic or just a little bit down, the best thing to do is take their temperature. This way, when you call the vet, you have some kind of information to give them. If you're using a glass thermometer, it's important that you have a string on the end, that way, you don't lose the thermometer. And it's also important to put some lube on the end. If you've never taken your horse's temperature before, just be a little bit careful. And we're just going to slowly insert this and it should sit for probably a few minutes. Then after a few minutes have gone by, you can take it out and read it."
