"Hi this is Laura Turner and today we're going to be talking about writing place cards. I'm specifically going to talk to you today about writing place cards for formal event like a wedding. And I'm going to give you an example from a wedding place card. First of all you're going to want to actually address the place card to the people that are going to be sitting at the table. You can do this one of two ways. You can actually put the place card at the table and have them assigned to a particular table with their name or you can have at the front of your party the place cards made up with the names on them so that people can take them and then place them in front of the seat that they are going to take. So the way that you're going to fill out your card and this is an example of a wedding card is here we have Emily and Robert, the couple was getting married and then we have June 11th 2005 which is their wedding date. Under that we have an M and a blank. M because we're going to give people formal titles. We're going to use Mr. for men and we're going to use Ms for single women, and we're going to use Miss for younger single women. And Mrs. of course for married women. So you'll put Mr. and Mrs. Smith or you'll put Mr., Mr. Robert and Ms Jolene Smith. But if you only know for example you're making a place card for someone you've invited and of course they can bring a guest with them to the wedding, you only know Mr. Robert Smith. You only know his name but you don't know his guests name, it's perfectly fine to write Mr. Robert Smith and guest onto the place card that you're going to give them. So that is just, there's just a couple ways for you to write your place cards."
