"Hello I'm Dr. Bernice Bernhard a New York Licensed Psychologist practicing here in New York City. This segment is called things you can do for stress relief. My clients know that I very strongly believe in meditation and in square breathing but for right now I'd like to talk about you have to ask yourself the question what is causing the stress. Am I living in an abusive relationship? Do I have a job that I hate? Are my children making me crazy? Are there things that I can do about the life I lead that are causing me so much stress that I really can't function and that I'm miserable most of the time? I think you need to write down the things that cause you stress, perhaps keep a diary that is daily and write down on a scale of one to ten with ten being very high how much stress do I feel about this and if you can answer why then answer why. Sometimes you won't know but you'll know that your body is crying because you have headaches, and backaches, stomach aches, frequent diarrhea and you'll know that your body is telling you that something is wrong so that is the first thing you need to do. Find out what it is and do something about it whether that is seeing a medical doctor or seeing a psychotherapist. It is caused for a reason. Thank you, this is Dr. Bernice Bernhard."
