"You've just received a ticket for careless driving and you are concerned and worried that this may be considered the same thing as reckless driving, and you heard that reckless driving carries some very serious penalties and possibly imprisonment in certain circumstances. Hello, I'm Robert Todd and I'm here to answer the question what is careless driving? Well of course this is going to depend on what state you live because the laws regarding careless driving is going to vary from state to state. But generally careless driving has to do with a citation that states you were not operating and driving your motor vehicle in a careful and prudent manor. That is to say that you are not operating the vehicle in a manner consistent with the street location and weather conditions under which you found yourself driving. Reckless driving on the other hand is a willful want and disregard of those around you while you are operating the motor vehicle. Thank you for watching. I'm Robert Todd."
