"My name is Anthony Maddaloni, and I'm going to talk about making Van Dyke Brown images. A Van Dyke Brown image is using emulsion that you cone on to watercolor paper, fabric. Letting the emulsion dry and then printing with it outside in the sun. This is a really cool process, whereas you don't really even need a dark room to do it. Whereas you could take an image that you make from a negative. You can even make what's called a photogram. Where you place something on top of the emulsion and the paper when it's dry and you develop it in water. And it has a very antiqued brown look to it. After it's been developed in the sun, you develop the image in water and that's it. And your image comes out. It's a really easy, beautiful process to do. And that is how you would make a Van Dyke Brown image."
