"I'm very often asked, what's a webinar and what's a telephone conference, I'd like to talk to you about the differences and predominately focus on webinars for you today. My. name is Kathy Pabst Robshaw, Total Telephone Effectiveness. A webinar is very simply a conference call which is a bunch of people on the telephone but you're adding the ingredient of visual through the computer. If you're organizing a webinar you can download onto the computer a Power-Point presentation or any other documents that you want to show to the people that are participating. Colleges use it, universities use it, that's how they do E-learning, distance learning, is using a webinar. It takes a little bit of time to set it up, not that difficult, but it does need to be set up. If I was going to hold a webinar, I would contact a company on-line, there's several, there's only a fee that you would pay for a monthly subscription, depending on the number of users you're going to have participating in the webinar, and I'm given a phone number again, as well as a computer number, computer code. So people dial in to the webinar through the phone to get phone contact, and then dial in on the computer using the link and the password, and then everybody is communicating. It's pretty neat, just like be live face to face. You ca raise your hand on the webinar, you can actually ask a question on the webinar, you're typing in the question without interrupting anybody. The person in charge can even draw on the screen so they can make a point, make an additional piece of information available to you. So it's pretty flexible, just like having a face to face meeting. In fact, some companies even use webinars now, as oppose to having conferences or board meetings, and having people travel. Very, very flexible, very adaptable, very cost effective. I'm using one now for training and coaching with a client in mind in fact, they're in California, I'm here, we're doing it purely phone/webinar, and it's happening. It's a very, very strong tool for your business. Kathy Pabst Robshaw, Total Telephone Effectiveness."
