"I'm now going to talk to you about the History of Speed dating. Speed dating derived almost a decade ago. And it's origin are credited to the Rabi of Aish HaTorah. It was derived as a way for two singles to meet to marry. Speed dating as single words is Trademarked and registered to Rabi Aish HaTorah. Speed dating as two separate words is used as a generic term for the events advertised by commercials, nowadays. The speed dating event took place in Pete’s Caf? in Beverly Hills in late 1998. It was almost by the end of 2000 when commercial ventures started to organize speed dating events. And it really started to take of, across the United States. And world wide, for that matter. It's popularity was boosted by shows such as Sex and the City, showing glamorous people attending the events. So as part of the speed dating IQ, that it just saves time. Most people can tell within the first minute of meeting someone. If they're romantically compatible. And that's why often first impressions are permanent impressions. And that's the History of Speed Dating."
