"Hi, I'm Veronica Baragas with my wigglesandgiggles.com, and I'm going to tell you how to ask for maternity leave. First I would suggest to sit down and take some notes on what it is that you're asking for. Make sure that you're well into your pregnancy, and that you've consulted with your spouse or significant other on the things that you need to do that are going to be right for your family. So before you go and talk to your boss, I would see whether how much time you want to take, when it is that you're going to have to take off. When you return to work, if you're going to want to do part-time, work from home, if you're going to have the same job and pay. So basically brainstorm all your questions before you start. And when you do talk to them, make sure that you know the handbook policies, and usually you get a 12 week grace period of unpaid leave before you can return back to work, so I would look into the handbook policies, it could entail how long you've been employed, how many employees are there, and basically your relationship with your job. So, there's lots of options to look into, I would plan ahead, and make sure that you have all your questions to make sure that your interview with your boss goes smoothly. So pretty much- that's pretty much it."
