"How to get a free credit score. Very challenging question because there's so many different guidelines as to what you may be able to do. Typically, how do you get a free credit report, as well, will be one of the things that goes along with this. What you may want to do, typically, what the law provides for, or provisions and the credit reporting law, will be for you to be able to have access to your credit report once an adverse decision has been made on an application that you sent. An example will be if you applied for a credit card and you get turned down, there will be a letter that will be sent to you from the lender saying, obviously, "we're unable to extend credit to you at this point, now if you need a copy of your credit report, please contact the credit reporting agencies", and at they'll provide that to you for free. The issue with that though is it doesn't come with a credit rating on it, as to, what the credit score is so now the question is how do you get that? There are several different outlets out there, in terms of, especially with todays technology, through the web you have FreeCreditReport.com you can actually even go on the actual credit reporting agency's website themselves, which again, it has nothing to do with what I've mentioned previously about adverse credit decisions that have been made by the lender. What will be the case would be for you to go back and apply Online with Experian and TransUnion, Equifax, type in all your information and make sure that you do select one that requires what you're asking for, a credit score. Unfortunately, you might need to pay a nominal fee unless you go through a free creditreport.com web page."
