"Hi, this is Laura Turner, and today we're going to talk about how to write a wedding invitation. Your wedding invitation is one of the most important and most expensive parts of planning your wedding, so you really want to put down exactly what you want to say in it, and you can actually word it about any way you would like to, but here are some more traditional ways to word your wedding invitation. My first example states that together with their parents the bride and the groom Julia and Raymond, their full names, invite you to share in their joy as they exchange marriage vows. And then when you say the date of your wedding, you should actually spell out on Saturday the thirteenth of September, so two thousand and eight rather than just writing down the numbers as they appear. At six o' clock in the evening, so a very formal way of presenting, and then you're going to give the location if you'd like. And then also if you are inviting everyone to the reception you might want to include a map to the reception, of course this all makes the price of invitations go up. 'Cause you're going to be spending more postage to put all this stuff in there, 'cause it's going to be heavier. A second traditional way to word your wedding invitation is the pleasure of your company is requested at the marriage of Samantha, daughter of mister and missus Frank Myers to Jeffrey Blanchard, son of Mike Blanchard and Sarah Pallant. These are just people that I have made up for you here. The reason why this is more formal is because the parents are inviting you to the marriage of their daughter and son, and this is especially a way to word your wedding invitation if your parents are going to be footing the bill for reception and the wedding. If you are going to be footing most of the bill the previous way would be a way to go with your invitation. And then pretty much the same look to this invitation except reception to follow, and a more formal way of presenting the address and location of the wedding. What you also want to include in your wedding invitation is an RSVP card with its own little self-addressed and stamped envelope, okay. So the favor of a reply is requested before October fourth, two thousand and eight is on this one. So you want to tell the people that you're inviting that you need to know whether or not they're coming by a certain date, so that you can set all of your stuff out for whatever kind of reception you're having and make sure you've got enough room for everyone that's coming. Okay. And there are endless ways to design these, and it's probably going to take you a considerable amount of time to figure out what design you would like, so start planning on writing these now."
