I'm Gloria Campbell with Advantage Training Systems in St. Petersburg, Florida. As a woman, we always want to know how to be taken seriously in the workplace. There's several things that we definitely want to do and several things we don't want to do. So why don't we start with the don'ts? One of the first things we don't want to do is we don't want for our dress or our behavior to indicate to anyone that we consider ourselves below or above anyone else. So make sure you take a look at how you dressed. Make sure that that dress, if it's a skirt or dress, that the length is appropriate, and also take a look in the mirror. Too much cleavage doesn't indicate that we are really serious about our job. Now what do we do? The first thing we do is that we make sure that anything we do, that it is done correctly. Now if there are communications, make sure that we proof read it. If there are assignments that we've been given, that they're in, they're on time, and they're accurate. Being taken seriously in the workplace as a woman requires that we are always on our Ps and Qs and we're always doing our best.
