"Are you confused on how to properly care for your dentures? Well my name is Michelle and I'm a dental assistant with Solutionz and I'm here on how to inform you on how to properly care for your dentures. We have a little demonstration here so we can act as if these are your dentures. What you want to do, now most patients they don't really think that once they have had their teeth extracted and they have dentures placed they don't really think that they have to take care of them. But with your dentures you definitely want to take care of them just as if they were your natural teeth. When you place your dentures in every day you would go ahead and apply the Fixodent if you need Fixodent which is an adhesive that will keep your dentures in place. You apply the Fixodent on the dentures, put them in your mouth and then bite down. You immediately want to bite down because that is going to push out any access of material of the Fixodent material that is left so therefore you can remove it out of your mouth. Once when you have done so at the end of the day you want to actually remove your dentures and you do not want to leave your dentures in over night because they will actually start to form Calculus on to the dentures which is a form of decay so you want to take your dentures out every night. You definitely want to brush your dentures because like your natural teeth you get bacteria that sits on them which in return forms into plaque and then also forms into calculus which would then make your dentures look like a dingy yellow teeth colored look so you definitely don't want that. You are going to want to remove your dentures out every night, brush them as you normally would brushing your teeth. Place them in a bath which is just a little cup full of water, therefore it keeps them nice and moist and it doesn't dry them out. It doesn't leave any residue film on them, place them in there overnight, when you wake up in there the next morning, take them out, dry them off, place the Fixodent in there and wear them all over again. My name is Michelle. I'm a dental assistant with Solutions and hopefully I have helped you on how to take care of your dentures correctly."
