"There is so much different type of information on what type of water you drink. Do you drink filtered, do you drink distilled? What exactly is going to be the best for you and how much do you need? Hi my name is Mark Brinson, doctor of oriental medicine, physical medicine, and human performance specialist. When trying to decide what type of water to drink these days tap isn't necessarily the best thing. It has a lot of chemicals in it and it has been treated. Basically it is o'kay to bathe in, to wash your dishes in, but when you are really talking about the water that you should drink every day it is important to get something that is a little higher quality. First of all something that is filtered, as long as you have got basic filtration you are probably doing o'kay but if you want to get better when you start getting into micron filtration even up to distilled it is o'kay. But I do want to mention to people that you need to be careful with distilled water. Distilled water has a process that heats it and steams it, condenses it and then removes everything essentially except H20. Now people might think that is the purest so that's the best but that isn't necessarily the case. Because by removing all of the minerals and salts in it you can dehydrate yourself slightly by drinking distilled water. When it gets into your intestines distilled water actually pulls different things out of your body to go out through elimination so it can be good for times of fasting or times of cleansing but if you are going to use distilled water on a regular basis adding just a pinch of sea salt per gallon can be very beneficial and still get you the hydration that you need. When wondering how much to drink make sure that you get in between two to four quarters or two and four liters per day. My name is Mark Brinson, doctor of oriental medicine hoping that you have a balanced and well hydrated day."
