"Congratulations, you've decided to quit smoking! That's probably one of the best things that you can do for your health and longevity. Hi, my name is Mark Brinson, Doctor of Oriental Medicine, Physical Medicine and Human Performance specialist. The decision to quit smoking is one that needs to be both personal and with a little bit of help from your support systems. Smoking does take years, years off your life and your health and your quality of life. The way that an Acupuncture Physician may be able to help you with this is first of all you have to take make that decision that you want to quit. Nobody can make you quit, it has to be your own, that makes things a lot easier. But with a combination of daily acupuncture for about two weeks, herbs and different supplements and a few small dietary changes, what acupuncture can do is ease this whole process. It can cause your body to detoxify, it can help to clear your lungs, your liver and your kidneys, it can also help to significantly reduce cravings to only one or two a day. The typical person has about twenty cravings a day, don't think it's any coincidence there's twenty cigarettes in a pack. So with those two to three cravings a day, a good Physician will also give you tools to deal with that.
