"Are you feeling depressed, and wondering if acupuncture would actually help you? Hi, my name is Mark Brinson, Doctor of Oriental Medicine, Human Performance and Physical Medicine specialist. We're talking about depression. It can be a very serious thing, and affect every aspect of a person's life. Acupuncture could be the thing for you, and I want to give you a couple of hints, on how to find the right acupuncture physician, and the right treatments, and what to expect when you're there. With acupuncture, it can be great to help with this, but it takes several sessions. We should ideally seek, as an acupuncture physician and herbalist, that is also going to prescribe herbal medicine for you, and recommend some lifestyle changes. As far as mood goes, and as far as the body and the mind go. In Eastern medicine, we really don't separate the two, and the herbology, the formulas, and the food recommendations that are made, can be just as important, as any of the other treatments that you can receive, as far as acupuncture goes. The combination of the two is extremely powerful. Make sure that you go to someone that is well versed in it, that uses this as maybe even one of their specialties, along with counseling, especially if your depression seems to be severe. If you do have severe depression, and you're leaning towards thoughts or feelings of suicide, or hurting yourself, make sure that you do seek some sort of counseling for that. You can either go to paid counseling, low cost counseling, or the clergy, is always willing to help in situations. The big thing is with this, make sure that you do get help. Help is available, and it can come very, very, quickly, if you're interested in it. My name is Mark Brinson, Doctor of Oriental Medicine. I hope that you find balance and happiness in your life."
