"Hi, I'm Linda Wooldridge and I'm a home school mom. But what is the difference between home schooling and public schooling, besides obviously some children are in a school building and yours are at home. Well, there are a couple of obvious differences beside that one. If you home school, you're responsible for all of your child's education. That includes being the school superintendent, the principle, the teacher, the cafeteria lady. If you send your child to public school, you don't have to worry about those things. You know, the schools that we went to when we were kids are not the schools our kids are in today. So, you want to check out the school system where your child will be. Do they still have recess? Do they teach science? Do the kids have PE? If you like the answers to all of those questions and your child is happy in that school, then you're in the perfect place for your family. But if things have changed in a way that you don't like, or you don't feel that your child is getting the education that he or she deserves, then you might want to consider home schooling. Now that can be traditional school in your own home where you use textbooks. It can also be something called unschooling, where you and your child are on a series of adventures, and your responsibility is to make sure that those adventures look something like a traditional school. But however you choose to school, whether your child is home with you or whether your child is in a traditional public school setting, as long as it's working for your family, it's the best choice for your family. I'm Linda Wooldridge, have a great home schooling day."
