How to Select a Good Date Movie

"Horror movies are not all bad. How to select a good date movie. This is Dr. Paul, author of Boomer Girls! A Boomer Woman's Guide to Men & Dating, and host of Ask Dr. Paul. Okay, you're trying to select a good date movie, okay. Now, there are popular movies out there, and there are a few as I always say on what to not do first and that is forget about the violence. Now, horror movies can be kind of funny depending on how you look at them. You know, just think of how tremendously this costume person worked on putting this plastic thing together that looks horrible, and comes in and has these things dripping out of its mouth. Now, everybody knows in the back of their mind it's not true, but oh it's scary, and that can set up the emotion to have a good date movie. I know it sounds strange, but it's not always the romance movie that makes a good date movie. Now, I'd kind of get away from violence and warfare, and that type of thing because oftentimes that may turn people off, or it may be too political for them in some fashion. So, a good date movie can be one that has action like a James Bond movie. It's not going to have something that's going to be blood and guts per se; something that I would stay away from, but it has some romance, it has action, and everybody's happy with it. And as I said, the horror movie if even the funny horror movie isn't all bad as as a selection. So, keep those things in mind. What to not do would be the blood and guts, the war, the pol, political things; stay away from those in a date movie. But go for the things that might really have a lot of impact and be fun.
