How to Clean Blood From Carpet

"Okay, now we are going to be getting blood out of carpet fibers. The first thing you want to know about blood is how long it's been there, because you want to get it up as immediately as possible. The first thing you want to do is you want to blot the blood off the carpet fiber to get as much excess as you can, it's fresh. The next you want to do is you want to flood the area with ammonia. And you want to blot it again. I'm going to use a paper towel so the blood doesn't transfer in cloths unless you have a rag that you don't care about that's fine. So, now that that has been blotted you want to add a little bit of water, cold water, and preferably salt water, so I'll just add a little bit of salt to the mixture. And water again to dissolve the salt into the stain. Then you want to add a little bit of dish soap. And you want to let it sit for a good hour, to allow the blood to dissolve, and then when you come back after an hour, you want to blot it and then you want to flood the area with just cold water. Usually you use cold water to get out most stains because heat has a tendency of setting a stain into the carpet fibers. There are some cases when you would use lukewarm water or in very rare cases, warm water. So once you flood the area again, you can blot it a final time and that should lift the stain completely off the fibers and if it doesn't then you can just repeat the steps to get the remaining amount off."
