Some people may consider it to be painting or polishing, it's all the same. You definitely want to make sure that you can utilize all of the different techniques to your polish applications. Some people consider using a base coat and a top coat. This will help your polish to stay on and help it to look it's best. You have different techniques of how you can apply your polish application. When you're applying your polish application after your base coat has dried, some people consider polishing just a strip down the middle of the nail, to give the nail it's own unique look. You can also cover the complete, entire nail by covering the nail bed with the polish. Some people may want to consider polishing just the free edge of the nail. This will be considered a colored French application. And you basically just want to swipe one end of the corner of the nail to the next, only on the free edge. If you want to be a little creative, some people may just color half of the nail application. You want to finish up with a top coat after the nail polish has dried.
