"Hi, I'm Kelli. I'm an aesthetician and makeup artist at Ulta Salon and Cosmetics. And I'm going to talk to you today about how spray tans work. There's a couple different ways that you can actually get a spray tan. You can go to the spray tan booths where you actually stand up and you have a sprayer that goes around and sprays you. Or you can go and have an actual person spray tan you. It's been my experience that when you actually go to an aesthetician that is trained and licensed to actually apply spray tan you get your best results. Before you go a couple things to keep in mind, you want to make sure that you exfoliate, especially around the elbows and the knees. That's where you'll start to have a lot of discoloration. The tan'll grab there if you have a lot of dead skin. Also make sure you wear some loose fitting clothing. When you leave the tanning salon your tan probably won't be completely dry so you don't want anything tight or restrictive that could rub off your tan. Try to make sure to schedule yourself ample time so that you have enough time to allow the tan to dry before you reapply your clothing. So those are a couple tips to make sure that you; when you do go to a tanning salon have a spray tan to make sure that it lasts really long and it looks really great. But spray tanning when done right is a really great alternative to achieving a nice healthy tan."
