Women, are you worried about that loss in sex drive? Hi, I'm Virginia Intelisano, mental health counselor, registered intern with the state of Florida. And I'm here to talk to you today about the treatment for your loss of libido, ladies. One of the things that can cause a loss of libido is a hormonal imbalance. As we get older we might look in the mirror and not recognize ourselves, we definitely don't look like we used to. Hormone imbalances can show up in symptoms such as hot flashes, insomnia, mood swings, fatigue. One of the things that you can do is go see your doctor and ask if there are any treatments for this. Another thing to do that you can do at home is to manage your stress. Coping with stress can be effective. You can use yoga, meditation, exercise. Exercise and diet have a significant impact on your libido. Making sure that you get all the right vitamins such as vitamin B, zinc, magnesium and essential fatty acids are very, very important. Make sure you eat fish and make sure you take over the counter supplements if you feel like you need to. Also, seeing an nutritionist can help with any of these questions. If you're feeling stressed because you cannot handle what's going on, maybe you're a mother, maybe you're a wife, maybe you have a job and you're a career woman, it can be tough to balance all of these things. You always have the option of seeing a mental health professional. So if you have any questions please contact a local mental health professional, nutritionist or doctor in your area. I'm Virginia Intelisano and believe me, your safety and your sanity is imperative.
