We'll talk about the design of the deck and how we came up with it. First off the deck was completely rotted and we just had to completely tear it down and rebuild it from the ground up. The most important thing is we put metal galvanized brackets to keep the wood off he ground. It has got to be off the ground. Now we expanded the deck out from the house another foot which makes a huge difference, just a foot or two out from your house is a lot better than just six feet out and the length was 36 feet long to the end but over here they had steps right here. They had a 4 X 4 platform with steps coming down each side of it and we wanted to get rid of this so what we came up with on the design is to elongate the deck three feet over on to the house a little bit and cut out a little bit of trees, took out a bush and run down the steps right even iwth this stucco block wall here and incorporated three concrete steps to go up to the stairs here so that's how we came up with the whole design. We just made it out a foot more which makes a big difference and another three feet long to get the stairs off of the driveway so they can have the driveway back and not have these crummy wooden steps.
