"Hi, I'm Jay French from JayFrenchStudios.com. And, I'm going to show you how to draw a angel's wings. One of the big differences between drawing angel wings and bird wings, is first of all, you, they're coming off of the back, where they come off the sides on a bird. We have a basic form here, we're going to start from. We got our little guy, our angel warrior, who's got a sword in his hand. So, the most common way of doing angel wings, is to do a big arch. But, we're going to do something a little more dramatic. We want to show how to make them look, more eye catching. We want something more angular. Do a curve, do it much sharper, although it's still slightly rounded. A curve to the tip. The wings can come all the way down, as long as you like. Your basic shape of a wing, is going to be where you have short feathers, at the back here, or, the bird on the side. But, we're concentrating on angel wings here. The part closest is pretty well even. And then, we have the tapered end of the wing. So, from this angle, since it's going up and folded down, the bottoms of the wings, on this part will go up, and then you'll have it come down, from this angle. Now, the bottom's where you see the layers of feathers. Get some angles, and they can be basically, you still want to curve to the, to the corner, but, you'll notice that they're angled. They're not perfect curves, like scales. You get more drama, and an air of realism, by having that angle. Wings are always in layers. We have, it's good to just do some, the fluffier you have, softer, downier feathers at the edge there. Now, these wings , and you also have some smaller ones come off the corner, on the latter half. You can even do several layers of that, if you like. And then these, you actually probably want a higher number than I've done here. So, more thinner, feathers than I've got here. Again, have those dramatic angles. If you want a good predator "ial" look, if you have a warrior angel, then you want to have some, bird of prey style feathers, sticking out towards the end. Have a little more separation between these last feathers. And then they start touching more as they come in. And you get more of a, bird of action style wing, for your, for your angel. And that's your basic lesson. How to draw an angel wings."
