"Dealing with menstrual cramps is really painful, and it's a personal journey on how to get relief from them. I'm Lauren Roy from Sugar Hollow Farms in Phillipston, Mass. It is a really personal journey, menstrual cramps are caused by the uterine walls getting ready to contract and begin your menstrual flow. There's many different ways that you can prepare your body during the month, by taking Omega threes helps balance the hormones, drinking raspberry leaf tea can help strengthen your uterine wall and make the cramps a little less. You can also try things like the relaxation you get from a glass of wine, coupled with a nice chocolate bar. You can use a warm pack on your back and your front. You can also use an aromatherapy oil that has some relaxation properties such as lavender and I make a pain oil that has anti-inflammatory properties in it, with lavender and chamomile for relaxation and flax oil and rosemary and turmeric for anti-inflammatory properties and sweet marjoram for pain relief, and it works really well to alleviate those kind of cramps. You can also try elevating your feet and laying back on a bed with your feet elevated and that can kind of help alleviate some of the stress on those muscles. But it's really a personal journey and you have to keep trying until you find what works for you. I'm Lauren Roy for Sugar Hollow Farm in Phillipston, Mass."
