"Hi, this is Laura Turner and today we're going to be talking about how to write a bio. The first thing you want to think about when you're writing your bio is what you're writing it for. Are you writing this for a web site, your own personal web site, how long does it need to be and who is going to be reading this bio? For example, whenever actors write bio's for programs in the theater, they usually include their most recent credits or their most impressive credits and they usually keep it to about three or four sentences. So depending about where you're going to be posting this, if you're going to be posting it on your web site, you might want to have a longer bio that tells about where you're from, certain personal details and stuff like that that can help you tell people what you're all about. I think the most important thing to remember when you're writing a bio about yourself is to be concise and honest. Try to give the best information about yourself. And keep it, hopefully, I believe most of the time, should keep it pretty much non personal. For example, whenever I write a bio, I usually say the degrees that I have, where I'm from things like that. So I just sort of get it out there but I don't reveal too much about myself. And that's how to write a bio."
